Research on Low Noise Technology Based on a Gas Turbine Air Intake System

This paper takes the noise reduction technology of a gas turbine air intake system as the research object. The influence of the pressure loss and noise reduction of the air intake system was studied by changing the length and arrangement form of silencer. It was comprehensively analyzed and calculated by the numerical calculation and engineering calculation methods. The results show that the pressure loss results of the two methods are close, and the pressure loss of the silencer accounts for a large proportion of the total pressure loss of the air intake system. Besides, the length of the silencer is positively correlated with the noise reduction effect and pressure loss. Also, staggered arrangement of silencers of the same length is larger than pressure loss of a single row. Moreover, additional noise can be generated at the exit of the muffler. Taking a certain project as an example, combined with the requirements of the noise reduction and air intake system pressure loss project, the length and arrangement of the muffler are optimized, and the air intake system is tested in the field after the project is put into operation. The test results also showed that the design requirement was also met. This study provides a data basis for the optimization design of gas turbine air intake system noise reduction.
