Construction industry has been identified as one of the most hazardous industries in terms of the huge number of fatal occupational injuries. With the high attention of the national governments, the International Labor Organization (ILO), enterprises and employees, a wearable device for worker safety comes into being at the historic moment due to the rapid development of intelligent technology in recent years. Wearable devices mainly protect the safety of site workers from four aspects: 1) physiological monitoring; 2) environmental sensing; 3) proximity detection; and 4) location tracking [1]. Despite the increasing use of wearable devices in the construction industry, there is still not enough available research. Therefore, this paper aims to summarize and make visualization analysis of relevant previous literature about the application of wearable devices in the construction industry. Visualization analysis was conducted mainly through CiteSpace and assisted by VOSviewer, including: 1)Keyword Co-occurrence Cluster Analysis; 2)Keyword Co-occurrence Timezone Analysis; 3)Reference Co-citation Analysis; 4)Literature Coupling Analysis; 5)Author Bibliographic Coupling Analysis—VOSviewer; 6)Country cooperation Analysis; 7)JCR(Journal Citation Reports) Overlay Dual-Map Analysis.
