Single crystal of cubic boron nitride was successfully prepared by high temperature and high pressure method, and the catalyst used in the experiment is magnesium nitride. The yield and size of cBN crystal can be effectively increased by increasing the content of catalyst, synthesis temperature and time. The size of synthesized CBN single crystal has reached 500 μm, and the color of cBN single crystal synthesized with magnesium- based catalyst is amber.
