Biochar is a type of highly aromatic, highly organic carbon content and porous solid granule byproduct derived from biomass pyrolysis in low or zero oxygen environment. The combination of biochar and fertilizer can slow down the release rate of fertilizer and reduce the adverse effects of fertilizer loss on the environment. The purpose of this experiment will be to combine biochar and urea produced by pyrolysis of rice husk and other farmland waste, and to produce core-shell structure carbon fertilizer by adding a environmentally friendly and easily degradable binder chitosan, so as to adjust the release rate of fertilizer and increase crop yield. The main factors such as pyrolysis temperature, type, particle size, addition ratio, concentration of binder and so on were studied, and the release characteristics of formed carbon fertilizer were studied by means of leaching, SEM, IR and so on to develop high quality carbon fertilizer with good molding effect and release effect to meet the requirements of crops. The results showed that the release rate of core-shell carbon fertilizer was obviously slower than that of traditional fertilizer, which could reduce the cost of fertilizer, solve the waste of agricultural and forestry waste, reduce the utilization rate of traditional fertilizer, and solve the problem that binder is difficult to degrade.
