The challenges and opportunities for development and progress of Smart and Sustainable Energy system significantly vary from place to place across a country. The current power system is subjected to series challenges such as the market economy, constant need of more electric power, unreliability, and energy integration smart grid. To meet these challenges, it is need of hour partial or total reconstruction of the power system. This paper describes the role of the renewable energy system to improve grid flexibility and reliability. The idea of integrating renewable energy resources through the concept of microgrid will boost up the current powers system. The various renewable energy resources are in wide range of capacities, increases distributed generation. The expansion of these resources will gradually change the behavior of energy production and consumption. The reliability and installment of these resources for a community through global integration which brings power system to close to its stability limits. DC integration, markets, and consumer interaction will be optimized the power system through a concept of Microgrids. The work presented here is inspired by the future use of distributed power system either ‘Stand Alone’ or ‘Plug and Play’ functionalities through integrated network structure of transmission and distribution system.
