Two modern optimization methods including Particle Swarm Optimization and Differential Evolution are compared on elliptical cylindrical array for uniform excited isotropic antennas and non-uniform excited isotropic antennas. In evolutionary computation, differential evolution (DE) and Particle swarm optimisation (PSO) could be based on a computational technique that optimizes a problem by iteratively making an attempt to enhance solutions to a given problem. Simulation results show that Differential Evolution is better than Particle Swarm Optimization in terms of optimum side lobe level for thinned cylindrical elliptical antenna.
