The 2008 IEEE International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control will be held in Sanya, China. The main theme of the conference is advanced technologies for emergency planning and response. Effective management of emergency events, including natural disasters and terrorist attacks, requires more sophisticated command, control, communication and coordination systems, which in hence raises challenge to researchers in the areas of networking, sensing, human factors, operational research, logistics, decision-making, information fusion, control theory, and system simulation.
