活动简介

The smart world consists of numerous “smart things” that can be endowed with different levels/forms of computational intelligence and even capable of thinking. This smart world is set to be the next important stage in human history. Research on smart world is an emerging research field covering many areas, essential problems, crucial issues and grand challenges in truly building the smart world that benefits humanity, and simultaneously safeguards the natural environment for sustainable development and evolution. Technologies that enable smart world along with innovations in the next generation of network systems, together with explosive growth of the Web, Cloud and Mobile Computing, Sensor Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data along with Blockchain as well as Internet of Things (IoT), have resulted in a plethora of new applications and services. Various organizations, government agencies and city planners are coming up with ambitious goals to create smart cities, smart manufacturing systems, smart agricultures, smart environments and so on towards the smart world. The world’s urban population is expected to double in the next 25 years. Creative solutions are urgently needed in order to efficiently manage scarce resources that all cities are facing today. City governments around the world are currently formulating their Smart City strategies - now is the time to engage and learn from researchers and industry experts to understand the problems and challenges. This summit will serve as a platform to bring together city officials and planners, practicing professionals as well as researchers from R&D organizations from around the world to explore the most recent technology advances, business models, and lessons learned to date in foreseeing the Smart World challenges and making the Smart City a reality. The focus is on strategy, various use cases, best practices, and the development of innovative business models for transitioning to the Smart World and Smart City of the future.
