活动简介

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the XI International Congress of the International Neuropsychiatric Association and the TS Srinivasan-NIMHANS Knowledge Conclave, a joint meeting in Bengaluru, India, that will take place on 15th, 16th & 17th February 2018. The 3-day event has the contemporary theme “Neuropsychiatry- A Global Approach” the core of our effort being to identify and discuss important transcultural issues in Neuropsychiatry. That the meeting is taking place in India makes it extremely relevant, as “Neuropsychiatry” remains a little known specialty in many parts of the developing world. The International Neuropsychiatric Association would like to take this opportunity to put on display the cutting edge of global knowledge in this field and its relevance to clinical practice, research and policy in different parts of the world. That the meeting will be in NIMHANS is also fortuitous; NIMHANS being India’s premier institution guides research and policy with respect to mental health and neurosciences in India, a country with the world’s second largest population and today the world’s fastest developing economy.

This congress will be of great relevance to professionals across disciplines. Apart from those who practice, teach & research neuropsychiatry or have a special interest in the field, behavioural neurologists, biological psychiatrists, clinical neurologists and psychiatrists, psychologists, neuroscientists, rehabilitators, public health & epidemiology professionals, nurses, social work professionals, complimentary and alternative health professionals and all others in healthcare interested in mental health and neurosciences, will be warmly welcomed to this forum; to exchange ideas and contribute to the global knowledge pool at this expanding and exciting interface.

We expect to have several types of academic and cultural activities taking place as part of this enriched program

  • Plenary lectures in which we will address the cutting edge of transcultural issues over two days

  • A series of symposia on clinical topics of practice relevance

  • Invited Symposia by key Neuropsychiatry expert groups and organisations from the UK, USA, Australia and other countries, putting on display the breadth of global knowledge

  • Award Sessions which will feature world leaders in the field

  • Selected Poster Sessions on all three days of the Congress, giving participants ample opportunity to present their own original work

Registration will include lunch and coffee breaks on all three days and an evening meal on the first day. In addition there will be a Gala Dinner for all registrants on day two, enabling a generous sampling of both local culture and cuisine. The venue for all activities is the NIMHANS Convention Centre located on Hosur Road in the heart of Bengaluru.
Bengaluru a cantonment of British India, is India’s information technology capital. A bustling metro, it has an excellent international airport with connections around the world. A city of gardens and lakes, it is pleasant and temperate in February with temperature in the 20’s. Mysore a cultural and historical capital of India is about 2 hours from Bengaluru. In addition there are a number of historical places of interest, within striking distance, ideal locations for pre and post congress tours. In addition, the state of Karnataka of which Bengaluru is the capital, boasts of several wildlife sanctuaries and coffee and tea estates abound in the surrounding hill regions. The Congress thus brings you to an important and interesting part of India, demonstrating amply the rich diversity of our country.

We eagerly look forward to welcoming you to Bengaluru and to your active participation in this meeting, which promises to be a feast for the brain, mind and soul. See you (t)here!
